To all of you who knew Gene, whether I knew you or not: he died last night after about 2 weeks in the hospital. Unfortunately, I could not be with him. He was diagnosed with esophageal cancer within the last week and had been recovering from pneumonia.

I cannot locate an obituary.  Gene lived in Augusta, GA

He attended our 50th Reunion in 2013.
